The Goethe-Institut Chicago, in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank, the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Consulate, the Alliance Francaise and the German Chambers of Commerce is organizing the ‘Common Economic Challenges - Cultural and Economic Changes in Europe since the Introduction of the Euro’ in Chicago, IL from July 20th to the 22nd 2011. This international conference will bring together world class academics, economic experts and diplomatic representatives to introduce Europe as a new cultural and political structure and discuss the cultural and economic impact of the introduction of the Euro on France, Germany, and the United States. The aim is to provide the vital background information, so that American teachers of French, German, Social Studies and Economics are best prepared to explain the European phenomenon to their students.
