Job: Mandarin Chinese Language Curriculum Writer

Mandarin Chinese Language Curriculum Writer (Grades 1 – 5)

Global Language Project (GLP) is an innovative educational organization. We equip disadvantaged elementary school students to compete in a globalized world and workforce by providing a comprehensive language-training program aimed at helping students achieve fluency in a foreign language. We work with the belief that learning a foreign language helps students in their overall cognitive development and broadens their opportunities in higher education and the global workforce.

About the Position

Global Language Project is currently looking for a curriculum writer to produce a common core standards aligned Mandarin Chinese curriculum for students in grades 1 – 5 based off of the existing Global Language Project Scope and Sequence.

The curriculum is made up of 35 units in total, with 7 units per grade from 1st – 5th grade. Each unit includes 10 lessons. Each lesson includes objectives, essential vocabulary, lesson activities, standards (ACTFL and content) and assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Creates 35 units of curriculum, based off of the existing Global Language Project Scope and Sequence within a pre-determined amount of time
· Makes changes based off of feedback provided by Global Language Project Program Manager

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
· Experience writing interactive, engaging elementary aged Mandarin Chinese curriculum
· Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English
· Ability to meet deadlines

Rate: $400/unit or $14,000 for the entire project
