Request for Proposals from Classics Departments

From http://apaclassics.org/index.php/apa_blog/apa_blog_entry/request_for_proposals_from_classics_departments

In 2012 the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) received a gift from a donor whose request was that the funds be used to support students and programs focusing on Latin, ancient Roman archaeology, ancient Roman civilizations, or other related subjects. NIAF therefore invites colleges and universities in the United States to submit proposals for the development and implementation of a program or program(s) with a budget of $500,000 to support the study of Latin, ancient Roman archaeology, ancient Roman civilization, and other related subjects. The grant will support opportunities for students to study abroad, conduct research, and pursue fellowships in the United States and in Italy.

Qualified college and university departments should be part of a U.S.-based, accredited college or university and have demonstrated achievement in the fields of Latin, ancient Roman archaeology, ancient Roman civilization or related subjects. Instructions for submitting proposals appear in an RFP which can be downloaded from NIAF’s website at http://www.niaf.org/grants. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2013.
