The WIDA Consortium, housed at the Wisconsin Center of Education Research at UW-Madison recently posted a position to hire an ELLs with Disabilities Researcher
This position will be the WIDA policy and accommodations expert on how to best assess and serve children with disabilities as part of the comprehensive WIDA standards and assessment system. Specifically, the candidate will manage the on-going development of the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs English language proficiency test, which was developed specifically for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Additionally, he/she will conduct extensive policy research to inform the recommended accommodations or alternate assessments developed for other physically challenged students such as the blind or deaf.
