Openings for Language Testing Specialists at SLTI

SLTI is looking to recruit language testing professionals to help our organization respond to rapidly growing demands for its test development services. We are located in Rockville Maryland, 17 miles northwest of the White House. We currently have 30 full time staff, plus a dozen part time staff. In any given year, we contract with nearly 100 consultants.

Through interesting and ever-changing projects, we provide an excellent atmosphere for work and professional growth.

This is not an entry level position. The ideal candidate we are looking for will be able to rapidly move into the management of projects and other employees. Thus, the candidate should come with knowledge of the language testing literature and current practice.

The ideal candidate should have many of the following qualifications and qualities:

* A Ph.D. with a focus on language testing. That means multiple courses on language testing, plus statistics and psychometrics.
* Experience as a language test developer, acquired through work with a testing company, or as the testing coordinator at an English language institute.
* Good organizational skills.
* Good management and people skills.
* Good IT skills.
* A strong work ethic.
* Oral fluency and literacy in a non-English language.
* Experience as a language teacher.
* Excellent oral and written English skills.
