Beginning world language teachers throughout Ohio with two-to-five years of experience are encouraged to join GLEN by registering for the first summer 2011 institute to be held July 5-9 at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. This community of practice is particularly important for rural world language teachers with little local support or for new teachers within a department of seasoned veterans. But hurry! The institute is limited to the first 25 teachers who apply.
GLEN is a community of practice consisting of language teachers committed to lifelong professional improvement. A two-year process focused on action research and leadership development initiates teachers into the community. It is sponsored by the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS), Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Foreign Language Association.
