iPad Apps for Parents and Teachers of Young Children

Ana Lomba's collection of classic stories for the iPad jumpstart young children's language education through the familiar springboard of universal stories such as The Ugly Duckling and Jack and the Beanstalk. The stories are bilingual to help parents who do not speak the target language, but they can be read in only one language as well. The voices are native actresses to help with pronunciation and also for a more animated experience. The theatrical and dialogic style is meant to help parents and children use the new language in their daily interactions. The stories are now available in combinations of Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, and English. If you have an iPad, click on “App Store” at the bottom of your screen to access Apple’s application store (iTunes), then, write “Ana Lomba” on the search line to find the stories. If you don’t have an iPad, then you can see a preview at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ana-lombas-spanish-for-kids/id385509506?mt=8

Note: The Red Hen story in all language combinations are free for people to try.
