The latest edition of the universal German dictionary Duden has been released. It includes not only some 5,000 new entries, but also an app for those who prefer to check their dictionary in electronic form. This is the first time Duden has been available as a book, app or an electronic download. The latest edition has also caused some controversy over the newest word additions, such as the number of words that are being used in the German language, but borrowed from other languages or words that English-language dictionaries do not print. There are also a number of words that point to the internet-driven lifestyle, such as “App” and “Facebook.”
