Job: Assistant Professor in French Applied Linguistics, University of Iowa

The Department of French and Italian in the Division of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in French applied linguistics. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in French, French Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition (SLA) or a related field in hand by August 2013; native or near-native fluency in French and English; evidence of an active research program in the acquisition of French as a second language or a related field. Desirable qualifications: experience in language program coordination. The successful candidate must be able to direct the first-year French program and to teach undergraduate courses in French language and linguistics and graduate courses in teaching methodology and second language acquisition. Opportunities to collaborate with SLA/FLARE and Division faculty to develop and teach interdisciplinary courses.
