From http://italian.georgetown.edu/366717.html

The Department of Italian at Georgetown University together with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Culture Institute in Washington D.C. invites proposals for a conference titled Teaching Italian Culture. The one-day conference will take place on October 19, 2013 during Italian Language Week as part of a series of events celebrating the Year of Italian Culture in the United States. The purpose of this conference is to share innovative approaches and pedagogical strategies for teaching Italian culture at both the high school and university levels.

The organizers invite proposals from faculty and graduate students in Italian studies who are experienced in teaching, creating course materials, and/or developing curricula. Instructors who incorporate culture into their lower division language courses are encouraged to participate, as are scholars whose research covers areas of Italian popular culture.

Proposals are due by April 30th.
