お正月(Oshogatsu: The New Year) is one of the most important holidays in Japan. Come celebrate with the Japan Foundation Los Angeles! You will learn Japanese vocabulary and basic expressions related to New Year’s as well as Japanese New Year’s customs.
Draw New Year’s greeting cards using calligraphy and play traditional New Year’s games. Taste soba (buckwheat noodles) just like Japanese do on New Year's Eve.
Beginners and people with no experience with Japan are very welcome.
