Professional Development Series in Massachusetts: A Thematic Approach to Language Learning

From http://fltwm.blogspot.com

The Foreign Language Teachers of Western Massachusetts Collaborative was established in 1984 to encourage collaboration and professional development among teachers of world languages in area public and private schools, K-16. Membership is open to all foreign language educators K-16 and individuals interested in promoting foreign language education.

2013-2014 Program : “Spiro-tecnics”: Making Technology work for you!

Building on last year’s exploration of thematic units across all levels, this year’s focus will be on the use of technology to support the development of these themes across all levels. Keeping proficiency ever in mind, participants will create concrete activities for immediate use in the classroom. Each session will focus on a certain number of available technologies (Websites, Apps, programs, etc.). Time will be allotted to practice with the technological tool being explored, and to create an activity that will be applicable for your classroom, at your level, for immediate use.

The meetings of the Foreign Language Teachers of Western Massachusetts Collaborative will be held at the Elms College in Chicopee. Social hour is from 3:00 to 3:30PM with the official program from 3:30 to 5:30PM.
